Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

Federal program that forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STARLRP)

The STAR LRP repays eligible educational loans. You must work in a full-time SUD treatment job. In exchange, you serve full-time for six years at a STAR LRP-approved treatment facility.

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment program

This program pays up to 85% of unpaid nursing education debt. In exchange, you serve at least two years. You must serve in a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) or an eligible school of nursing. You are eligible if you are a registered nurse (RN); an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN); or nurse faculty (NF)

Massachusetts Loan Repayment Program

Massachusetts offers loan repayment programs for primary health care professionals in a variety of disciplines including dental, medical, and mental health professionals. Applicants must be licensed to practice in Massachusetts and commit to practice two years full-time or the equivalent extended commitment part time providing services in an eligible facility or setting.

Apply to the Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program

Eligible clinicians providing pediatric medical subspecialty, pediatric surgical specialty, or child and adolescent mental and behavioral health care including substance use disorder (SUD) prevention and treatment services may apply to the Pediatric Specialty LRP.

Provider’s Council – Tuition Remission

Tuition Remission is a benefit offered to eligible employees of a qualified human service provider. Employees may remit tuition for state-supported undergraduate courses at a participating community college, state college or a state university, excluding UMass Medical School. Employees at approved human service organizations that meet the requirements are eligible to apply to the Tuition Remission program. This is NOT a reimbursement program.
